Citifluor mounting medium for immunofluorescence is designed to reduce the fading of the fluorescence of dyes used for labeling biological specimens. In the technique of fluorescence microscopy, the fluorescence is stimulated by high intensity UV and/or visible light. Absorption of the light populates an excited state of the dye (usually a singlet state) and this leads to fluorescence. However, the excited state of the dye may undergo chemical reaction, which leads to destruction as evidenced by the fading of the fluorescence and consequent loss of the image. Glycerol solution containing an amine-based antifadent.

EUKITT Neo Special is a xylene free product and is characterized by faster curing and slightly higher viscosity than EUKITT Neo. Users of EUKITT Classic will appreciate the xylene free replacement. The product retains crystal-clear optics, low fluorescence, favorable refractive index, good fluidity and low shrinkage properties. The preparations are stable without cracking and discoloration.
EUKITT Neo Special is colorless and does not change shape, structure or color of the material to be examined. The use of sustainable, renewable raw material as a solvent completes the modern formulation approach.
The pleasant odor facilitates working in the laboratory. Supplied in wide neck, unbreakable aluminum bottles.

Fluoro-Gel is a water based mounting medium designed for the permanent mounting of fluorescent stained tissues, which may either be damaged or soluble in organic solvents, such as xylene or toluene. This unique formula prevents rapid photo-bleaching of FITC, Texas Red, AMCA, Cy2, Cy3, Cy5, Alexa Fluoro 488, Alexa Fluoro 594, Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), Tetramethylyrhodamine, Redox, Phycoerythrin (RP-E), Phyocyanin (PC), and Allophycocyanin (APC).
The fluorescence is retained during prolonged storage at 4 degree C in the dark. Application: Immunofluorescence, confocal microscope. Contains DAPI (4, 6-diamino-2-phenylindole), a counter stain for DNA.

Chemical. CAS 28718-90-3. Formula C16H15N5 . 2HCl. MW 277.3 . 72.9. Synthetic. Cell permeable fluorescent DNA stain. AT-sequence-specific DNA intercalator. Binds to the minor groove of double-stranded DNA preferentially to adenine and thymine AT rich DNA, like Hoechst dyes, forming a stable complex which fluoresces approximately 20 times greater than DAPI alone. DAPI is several times more sensitive than ethidium bromide for staining DNA in agarose gels. It may be used for photofootprinting of DNA, to detect annealed probes in blotting applications by specifically visualizing the double-stranded complex, and to study the changes in DNA and analyze DNA content during apoptosis using flow cytometry.
